Notes on increasing my milk supply
This is a post I wrote as a guest-post for another blog a couple of years ago. I keep seeing women with questions about increasing their milk supply, so I thought I’d put this here for easy reference: I’ve nursed three babies and have had supply issues with all three. I was not able to […]

Thinking and dreaming. . . .
I’ve been dealing with weight issues since a couple of months after Christina was born (5/15/07), which I’ve since discovered were caused by a thyroid condition. Until all this started, I was one of those skinny girls who everybody hates, because I could pretty much eat whatever I wanted and not even think about it. […]

Bringing you up to date
It’s been a busy summer!
The kids have been taking riding lessons, and loving it! Mr. Campbell is a great role model for both of them. They’re learning SO much, and gaining confidence. It’s going to be harder to work into the schedule during the school year, but I think we need to find a way […]

Not the Valentine’s Day we had planned. . . .
We were going to go with Del and Colleen this morning to hear a piano/organ concert at their church and then, after Dave picked the kids up, we were going to take Christina to their house so they could babysit while we went out for a steak dinner. (It would have been the second time […]

Christina’s First Ear Infection
Christina got her first ear infection this week — just in her right ear, but still. . . . I wish she hadn’t gotten one at all, but I guess I ought to be glad that she made it this long without one.
Last week, she ran a fever for several days — nothing hot enough […]

Allergies suck.
Clint woke up with terrible allergies today. It happens occasionally, but it rarely hits this hard and lasts this long. He looked — and felt — completely miserable; his eyes were red and watery, his nose was running, and he sneezed two or three times every few minutes. He tried everything he could think of […]

It works! It works!
My oxytocin nasal spray, that is.
Clint picked it up for me while he was working this afternoon.
I’ve used it two or three times this evening, and each time it’s caused a letdown within two minutes!
I still need to let my midwife and my lactation consultant know, but between the Domperidone and the nasal spray, I […]

End of week 5
Well, considering that I’ve not been following the diet very closely (read: not at all, except for eating two or three apples/day), I guess I can’t complain about not losing weight faster. Truthfully, I’m just happy that I’m losing at all — and I am, however slowly. . . .

Still the 5th — Carole’s turn
It was nice to see Angelina with a bit of energy and a smile on her face today. She kept asking if she could go to school, and I had to tell her that we needed to wait until we heard back from the doctor’s office about her strep test — then she proceeded […]

End of Week One
Well, we found a scale on sale, so I’ll now have weights to go along with my measurements….
I’ve followed the apple diet pretty faithfully, and with pretty good results:

If I start adding some exercise (besides holding/lifting a baby!) I’ll probably see even better results!
