Happy Birthday, Christina!

*Sorry if this post seems clipped, but I’m trying to do about twenty things before I go to bed, and Christina seems pretty restless tonight. . . .

Took Christina shopping with me, to get a couple of last-minute presents and cake and ice cream. Got a couple of white boards while we were out, and some groceries.

Picked the kids up early, rather than going home and leaving again immediately. They were surprised and happy to see me there so early.

Christina fell asleep when we got home, and slept for at least an hour-and-a-half. Del and Colleen came over just before 5.

We sang Happy Birthday, helped her open presents, and the big kids opened theirs as well. (They were excited to see that they had presents to open, too. There was a package marked “for the big kids,” and we teased them that it was for us: “nooo, you’re LITTLE kids — WE’RE the big kids. . . .”)

Christina was a hoot: she got sooo excited watching us start tearing the paper for her, and she just stared and smiled; she kept looking at Del, as if to say, “Are you seeing this? Can you BELIEVE this?” She was also entranced by the candle on her cake, and was very happy about everyone singing to her. She loved her presents, of course, but was just as happy about having company as she was about the toys.

Took Colleen outside to show here Christina’s new pink umbrella stroller, and decided to break it in. The kids came along, and we ended up walking for over 30 minutes. Kelly showed up while we were still out walking; we saw her on the street, and sent her to the house while we finished up and headed back.

Dave picked up the kids, and Del and Colleen left. Worked on Kelly’s website for awhile. Got briefly interrupted by a phone call from Colleen: “Del just told me that that was Kelly — OUR Kelly!” “I didn’t even RECOGNIZE her!”

Burned a cd for Kelly, of her website, so she could take it to Brent. (He wants to upload it to his server, and is not set up for FTP.) Re-discovered that while the structure of the site is intact, ALL of the pics are missing!! I’ll have to add them all in again. . . .

Made meatloaf for dinner, and ate it while watching Small Change.

Ordered a couple of t-shirts with our logo on them, and worked on creating a window decal for the van.

Went to bed much later than we should have, of course. . . .
