Clint was up until 3:45 this morning, working on something on the computer.
Turns out that was a good thing, because that’s when the the tornado sirens went off, and they weren’t loud enough to wake me! I was dreaming about a strange noise, and when Clint woke me up I was very confused: I couldn’t figure out how he was hearing the noise in my dream. . . . In my sleepy state, I was actually pretty annoyed, and wanted the noise to just stop, before it woke Christina.
We were trying to figure out if the sound actually WAS tornado sirens, when all heck broke loose: gusting winds, sheets of rain, and non-stop lightning all started at the same time, and the power went out. It was very intense, and Clint said he wanted us to get away from the windows; that meant we had to sit in the hallway, and we stayed there for what felt like about half an hour. At that point, seemed that everything was letting up a bit, and I think the power came back on right as we were getting back into bed; I was pretty sleepy, so it’s all kind of dream-like. Christina slept through the whole thing, thank goodness. The kids were at Dave’s and, apparently, Alexander woke up, but Angelina slept through it. (The kids say most of his fence is down, and that their trampoline got blown over it and torn!)
Clint slept in this morning, not waking up until I took Christina in for her first nap at 10:30. I tried reading some of Del’s book after I laid her down, but she only slept about 15 minutes, so I didn’t get far. Decided to take her for a walk, and took the book with me; I managed to read about 12 pages while we walked around the block. : )
Spent some time posting on Errant Gamers and getting some feedback for my product idea, then picked the kids up after Christina’s second nap, around 3:00. Fixed our dinner early, and we ate while the kids were eating for a change.
Angelina was VERY tired, and afraid that she’s getting sick. She doesn’t WANT to get sick, because her camp out is tomorrow and Saturday, and she doesn’t want to miss it. Had her take some vitamin C, and got them both to bed by 7:30.
Took Christina for another walk, then foolishly tried to put her down around 8:10. She dozed for about 15 minutes, then sat up and started babbling. Didn’t get sleepy again until almost 10:30. (Clint was in bed by 10.)
I worked on Kelly’s website, and spent some time on DFW Moms, and now I’m doing this. I think I’ll stop now, and try to get some sleep.
