Wednesday, April 9

Finally got a shower this morning, then put Christina down for her nap; she slept almost two hours, so she was pretty tired. Took her for a walk in the stroller when she woke up. We walked around the block, through our neighborhood, then stopped home to pick up a drink and our Netflix envelopes; took the envelopes to the post office, then walked some more. All told, we were gone about an hour. (Clint was home, working on the JA video project, which he did all day, and some more after dinner.)

Played with Christina in the living room, then put her down for a very short nap before getting the kids from school. Found out that Miss Murti doesn’t ASK them if they want snack, or if they want to do an art project: Isha was reading a book, and she made her stop to come do an art project!! I swear, they don’t understand the word “Montessori!”

Stopped at McDonald’s on the way home, for ice cream cones. After they were finished, the kids wanted to go to the library to return their books and get new ones, so we went for another walk. We took the long way, but Angelina seemed nervous because there’s no sidewalk that way; next time we’ll go the other way.

Christina had fun watching the fish while the kids picked out books and videos, and she found a two-year-old boy to watch and wave at.

The kids headed back to the puppet corner, and started putting on a puppet show for Christina, but I had to cut them short: there was a woman sitting there with two VERY sick kids! They both had green stuff DRIPPING from their noses, and the boy was coughing — without covering his mouth — everywhere, and all over the puppets. I grabbed Christina and told the kids, “Sorry, but we have to leave now.” Luckily, the woman at the checkout desk had an antibacterial wipe, and I wiped down the kids hands and the stroller; hopefully, that was enough. . . .

Swung with Angelina for a few minutes when we got home, but we’d been gone for an hour again, so Christina needed another short nap.  (That’s two hours of walking today — I’m already getting sore, so I can imagine how I’ll feel tomorrow. . . .)  I laid down with her while Clint helped Alexander make pop-up cards from his new library book and Angelina drew horse pictures. Once Christina was asleep, I came out and drew a few horses for her, and she stapled them all together into a book.

Dave picked up the kids, and we had reheated leftover chicken spaghetti for dinner, while we watched another episode of Buffy. (We just finished disc one of season four — we’re moving through these pretty quickly!)

Put Christina to bed around 9:30 or so, then did some more research for a product idea that I have. Decided to ask the Errant Gamers for help, so I started a thread there about it. (Once I get it off the ground, I’ll post about it here. . . .)
