Remembering Grandma
Grandma and some friends were playing outside; it was a hot, dusty day, and she was somewhere around eight-yrs old, I think….
The kids decided they were going to play jump rope, and everyone was yelling, “I’m first! I’m first! No — I get to go first!!” Grandma just sat back and watched all of this and then went to sit in the shade of a nearby tree.
A couple of girls took their turns, and then started yelling for Grandma, “Ruthie, it’s your turn!” She just sat there quietly and said, “No, I’m not playing.”
“What do you mean you aren’t playing?”
“If I can’t go first, then I’m not going to play.”
They begged and pleaded for her to join them, but she just sat and shook her head. Finally, one of them said, “We’ll start over, and you can go first….”
She smiled, and skipped over to join them.
That’s my Grandma.

It sounds like she was a great women meant to lead (or manipulate…lol). My middle one is like that. You do it her way or no way.
