Our little eating machine
Christina will eat pretty much anything we give her now.
She’s been eating bites of our food — whatever it may be — for quite some time now: we just mash it up a bit with our fingers and pop it into her mouth and watch it disappear. But a few days ago it occurred to me that I hadn’t really given her any finger foods to eat on her own, so I decided it was time to remedy that: I put her in her high chair and scattered some Cheerios across the tray; from the way she went to town on them, you’d have thought she’s been eating them for months!
Of course, this means that I’m now on the hunt for baby finger foods! I bought something called rice rusks for her yesterday: they look like little surf boards, but they’re kind of crispy and they dissolve on her tongue — she loves them, of course. Tonight, Grandmommy gave her green jello and some rice — separately, not together! — and she ate them up, too.
We realized earlier today that she has liked literally EVERY food we’ve given her so far! I hate to jinx it, but I wonder how long that can keep up. . . ?
