Finally, our Valentines Dinner Date

It was worth the wait! : )

We went to Saltgrass Steakhouse, in McKinney.

Left Christina, for the second time ever, with GrandMommy and GrandDaddy, and I don’t think she even noticed we were gone. : )

It was a bit odd, though nice, to be out without Christina. I kept flashing back to times we’d gone out for dinner together before, mostly during my trips to visit Clint in Florida. This was much better. : )

We both decided to order things that we don’t normally order: I got the top sirloin, and Clint got the Prime Rib. The menu claimed that these were the two most flavorful cuts, and neither of us was impressed. Of course, then we decided that we really ought to give them another chance, because there’s a possibility that we really do just prefer the cuts that we’re used to and, if that’s the case, this wasn’t a fair test. . . .

I don’t think we were gone for very long overall, but it was a nice, leisurely dinner where neither of us had to do anything for anybody else, and that was nice, in and of itself. It was especially nice to return and find that Christina was still so busy playing that she hadn’t had time to miss us yet.

This could be addictive. . . . : )
