Memories are made of this

The kids have been waxing nostalgic lately, for the apartment that we lived in before we moved into our house. They’ve been reminiscing over the monthly breakfasts at the office, eating popsicles on the curb, and playing hide-and-seek outside. They’ve also been asking, for weeks, if we could go play on that playground sometime. I’ve told them that while I’m happy that they have such fond memories of our apartment life, I want us to create some new memories for our house. So far, we’ve added a few things to our list: walking to the library, swinging in the mornings before school, and picking up pecans from the yard. This morning we added going out for breakfast. (We went to IHOP, because they have crepes, which Angelina loves.)

Angelina and Alexander at PlaygroundWhen we were done with breakfast, we took them to the playground at our old apartment. (I know it’s supposed to be for residents, but we are former residents, and nobody is ever there, anyway. . . . ) They were soooo excited to be there that they just ran from toy to toy. They (and we) kept exclaiming over how much bigger they are than the last time they played here, and how much easier it was to do certain things. Angelina even let us take pictures without complaint — she even smiled for the camera several times, and even posed! :D (There are more pics here — I’ve not used DropShots since they “upgraded” their website a couple of months ago, but there were too many good pictures from today to not be able to post them.)

We dropped the kids off at Dave’s when we were done, and picked up some of the kids’ baby books for Christina. The rest of the afternoon was spent with me trying to work on the hall closet while entertaining Christina, and with Clint working on Shana’s website. I also finished reading my book while Christina was nursing/napping, so Yay! : )

We watched Young Guns while we ate dinner, then I laid Christina down and did the dishes. (Clint cooked, so it was my turn to clean up — it’s only fair!)
