I’m a believer!

In Domperidone, that is.

Lately, I’ve been thrilled to get 3/4 of an ounce from one side in the morning, or even half an ounce in the afternoon/evening. (Not that that’s nearly enough for Christina — it’s just that that’s a lot for me to manage to pump.)

I talked to my lactation consultant (Wendy Blumberg), and she recommended that I try Domperidone, so I went in to the Birthing Center to see if they could write a prescription for me.

They could, and they did. (Becky also took some blood so she could have my Thyroid levels checked; apparently, low thyroid levels are the most common cause for low milk supply.)

I took my first capsule at 6 pm yesterday. This afternoon, I pumped 1/2 oz on the left side — after nursing! — and just under 1 oz on the right. This evening, I pumped TWO OUNCES on the right side, and ONE OUNCE on the left — after nursing on the left side!

I am soooo relieved!!!

I wonder how much I’ll pump tomorrow? :D
